Instructions & Deadlines for your Export Plates

Required Documents & Details:

  • Vehicle Registration Document or Vin-number
  • Passport or National ID copy.
  • AKR Number (Alternative Contact Register). If you do not have an AKR number, we will make it.
  • Signed Power of Attorney (which we will provide).

    Processing Timelines:
  • Received before 10:30: Plates ready Next day before 11.00
  • Received after 10:30: Plates ready within  48 Hours

    Delivery Options:
  • Airport Delivery: Hand-delivered by our driver when use our airport service.
  • Dealer Delivery: Delivered directly to your car dealer between 09:00–12:00.
  • Self-Pickup: You can collect the plates yourself at Dekra Hammel, Finlandsvej 14A, 8450 Hammel, once we provide the permit documents.
  • DHL Shipping: We can ship documents and plates via DHL to any address in Denmark and all of Europe.

  1. Pricing:
  • Standard Fee: €50. This covers the driving permit documents, insurance, export plates, AKR number, and delivery to the car dealer.
  • Daily Plate Fee: €15 per day for the export plates.
  • Discount: If you already have an AKR number and wish to collect the documents and plates yourself, the price will be reduced accordingly.

Important Information Regarding Plate Processing

Please note that we are unable to offer same-day service for export plates. Due to significant waiting times at SKAT and the processing schedules of plate operators, we cannot guarantee immediate turnaround. We appreciate your understanding.

  • Self-Service: If you already have an AKR number and wish to proceed independently, you are welcome to handle the process yourself via the SKAT online system here 

  • Our Timeline: For orders submitted with all required information before 10.30, we aim for next-day processing.  However, we recommend allowing two business days to account for potential system outages or delays within the authorities.

  • Weekend Hours: Please be aware that the authorities, most plate operators, and dealerships close on Fridays at 12:00  and remain closed through the weekend. Unless you have made a specific prior arrangement for a late pickup, we recommend scheduling your arrival Monday to Thursday.

  • Shipping the plates: We offer DHL shipping across Denmark (1–2 business days) and throughout Europe (3–4 business days, depending on local delivery services). Please contact us for a shipping quote.
